Leslie Ann Fox Obituary
Leslie Ann Fox, age 71, of Linden, Texas, passed away on April 29, 2024, at the Hospice of Texarkana Inpatient Center. Born on December 30, 1952, in Longview, Texas, to James Lawrence Fox Jr. and Helen Marie Buckmaster, Leslie lived a life marked by dedication to public service and a deep commitment to justice.
After earning her law degree from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, Leslie began a notable career specializing in family law and juvenile justice. In 1999, she joined the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, where she served with distinction until her retirement in 2015. Following her retirement, Leslie moved from Grand Prairie, TX, to Linden, TX, where she continued her passion for community service. A Baptist, Leslie's faith guided her in life. She was an avid gardener and active volunteer, contributing countless hours to the Superficial Siderosis Research Alliance and supporting local education at Linden-Kildare and Jefferson High Schools.
Leslie was a loving and devoted partner, survived by her nephew Jay Fox; her adopted Linden family, Gary and Rori Daniel, Laura, and Scott Dossey and their children Averie and Gillian, and granddaughter Harper; Tobias and Aimee Daniel and their children Laynie, Braxton; and her dear friend, Ann Scott. She was preceded in death by her beloved wife and life partner, Sandra Jones; her parents, James Lawrence Fox Jr. and Helen Marie Buckmaster; her brother, James Fox; and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Fox Varney.
A private celebration of life will be held to honor Leslie's memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Superficial Siderosis Research Alliance (https://ssra. secure.nonprofitsoapbox.com/ general-donation) or your local Humane Society, organizations Leslie passionately supported.
