Genie Bird Naff

Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Mammaw, and Friend who loved deeply and was greatly loved.

Genie Bird Naff passed away with family by her side on November 1, 2023 at the age of 70. Genie was born on March 26, 1953 to Ellis and Mollie Bird in Seguin, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Jamie Naff.

She was a 1971 graduate of Bellaire High School in Houston, Texas, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.

Genie married the love of her life, Pat Naff, on June 5, 1976. They were blessed with three daughters, Jamie, Jennifer, and Leslie. She worked as an elementary school teacher for 13 years and was also a real estate agent and broker.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cheering on her grandchildren, playing games, and gambling. She loved Jesus, her family, and George Strait.

Genie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Pat; their children, Jennifer (Trey) Barnes and Leslie (Matt) Kennedy; grandchildren, Kade, Brooke, Kylie, Peyton, and Luke; her brother, Hank (Andrea) Bird and sister, Suzi (AC) Campagna; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great nephew; as well as many cousins and great friends.

A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Katy Funeral Home, located at 23350 Kingsland Boulevard, Katy, TX 77494, to be followed by a Catered Reception from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Pamela Millikan

Genie and I grew up together in our Meyerland neighborhood.  She lived just around the block on Ferris Street.  She was a beautiful lady and I have fond memories of navigating adolescence with her.  RIP dear Genie.
