DAVID EDWARD SANFORD succumbed to cancer on July 3, 2010 at his home in Montgomery, Texas. His loving daughters and sister were at his side at his passing.David was born in Houston on August 6, 1952 to Paul and Edith Sanford, the third son of six children. He grew up in southwest Houston and graduated from Bellaire High School in 1971. After attending Stephen F. Austin College for a year he entered the residential construction business where he spent his working career. David established and ran his own company, HomeWorks, which specialized in home remodeling. After closing that business in 2005 he moved to Galveston, Texas where he owned and managed apartments.In 2008 he moved to Montgomery, Texas to be closer to his two daughters, Sondra Langland and Julie Brackett; and the three loves of his life, his granddaughters, Lauren, Sarah and Natalie. During his illness and lengthy chemotherapy treatments David still managed to be his mother's principal caregiver in the last year of her life. She preceded him in death in February of this year. In addition to his two daughters David is survived by brothers, Mark, Bill, and Stephen; a sister, Paula; and his ex-spouse, Susan.Services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in the chapel of Forest Park Westheimer. Visitation with the family will begin at noon in the chapel.
