Carol Finney Dougherty, much loved wife, mother, sister, and friend died Saturday morning, October 31, 2015 at Christopher House Hospice in Austin at the age of 62. Carol was born on March 2, 1953 in Bay City, Tx to the late Robert and Patricia Finney.

She graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston, Tx then went on to graduate Cum Laude from the University of Houston. She moved to Austin in 1978 where she began a lifelong career at Ginny's Printing. She married Paul Dougherty on June 26, 1982 in Dallas, Tx and had 2 sons, Benjamin and Daniel. Her life was devoted to her unconditional love for family. Carol was a talented artist who demonstrated a love of nature through her beautiful work. She was an avid exerciser at Body Business and participated in multiple triathlons. She loved the outdoors and spent her vacations fishing and "crittering" with family and friends at South Padre Island and Lake Buchanan.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Paul Reid. She is survived by her husband Paul Dougherty of Austin, Tx, her sons Ben Dougherty of Chicago, Il and Danny Dougherty of Austin, Tx. Her sisters Dr Gail Finney and Jill Lawson, half sister Kathleen O'Brien, and step sisters Bonnie Lynne, Dianne Tweedy, and Lesley Thornbury . Step brother Danny Thornbury. Nephews Sean, Connor, Cameron, Collin, and Morgan. Nieces Katie and Trish.

There will be a Celebration of Carol's Life on Sunday November 8th beginning at 2 pm at the Dougherty's home 1908 Vallejo Street, Austin, Tx. Memorial Contributions may be made to Austin Hospice.
